Eclissi

“Eclissi” emerges as a response to the growing sense of isolation from community that permeates our increasingly digitally connected society. I envisioned people as masks, concealing their faces and emotions. They are individuals. Struggling to move, feeling trapped in a reality they no longer recognize. They live in a world where immediate and pervasive communication has turned into a monologue. Mutual understanding and communal life seem to be becoming rarer by the day.

Happiness is often promoted as a goal to be achieved, and hyperconnectivity deceives us into thinking we are closer to others, yet loneliness manifests as a silent, invisible condition. It is a feeling that doesn’t rely on physical presence, but on emotional disconnection and the absence of shared references, which deepens and disturbs our experience even further.

The project focuses on the daily expressions of this solitude, trying to capture its traces in the simplest gestures and the most familiar places, such as the home. Home should be a refuge, a space of intimacy, yet it increasingly becomes a place of isolation, where the sense of separation grows more evident.

Through these photographs, I do not aim merely to document absence, but to reflect on how loneliness takes root in our daily lives, sometimes imperceptible, yet always present. Each image becomes a meditation on missing intimacy, on incommunicability, and on the inability to share emotions, experiences, and moments of life.

We are absorbed by technology, but perhaps, at times, there are sparks of something emerging, something waiting to break through.
